Got home in time for the two minutes silence at 8 on TV (which we missed last year). Casualties and victims of WW2 and later conflicts were remembered at the monument at the Dam, Amsterdam's main square. Right after the Last Post marking the start of the silence, thunder sounded on our horizon which somehow fitted in well.
