Underground Visitor

The first mole hill of the year appeared today. By the looks of it the mole bumped into the stone edge of the stairs and came up for a look. 

There's another little mole in my room downstairs, framed up on the wall. Its name is Krtek, which is the Czech name for a mole. Krtek was created by Zdeněk Miler and his daughters provided its voice (especially the happy laughter!). The cartoons were shown in childrens' programmes the world over and I fondly remember them from my youth. I was therefore absolutely delighted to receive a couple of genuine cartoon cells from a colleague who had done an internship at Miler's studio in the eighties and was most kind to let me have them after the little mole turned up in conversation one day.
